Stay far away from this unless your girl has specifically said "I'm a art freak who loves hideous modern jewelry" I give it a 2 only because it's platinum. Imagine this thing in gold!!

If you're looking for something with a lower profile (i.e., not too high off the finger) a bezel set is what you want. If you're buying it for her, ask first, since a lot of people like the more traditional prong setting.

This is a neat setting because of the lack of prongs -- which is a nice concept since prongs tend to be sort of sharp and get snagged on clothes. I personally prefer the more traditional setting, but I'm sure the trendsetting girl would go for this!
